Confidence Through Understanding
LEARN WHY BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU WORKS THROUGH TIMELESS FUNDAMENTALS IN A STRUCTURED, BEGINNER-FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT THAT DEVELOPS PRACTICAL SKILL, LASTING CONFIDENCE, AND THE JUDGMENT TO USE BOTH WISELY.
BUILD A SOLID BASE WITH FOUNDATIONS
The Foundations Program gives new students a clear, structured introduction to positions, movements, and ideas that make jiu-jitsu work. Rather than overwhelming beginners with techniques, we focus on timeless fundamentals and help students understand how the pieces fit together. Classes are designed to make learning feel approachable. You’ll have room to ask questions, make mistakes, develop good habits, and build a base that gives you greater faith and understanding.
EXPLORE MORE WITH FUNDAMENTALS
The Fundamentals Program builds on that foundation and is designed for students ready to develop deeper understanding of jiu-jitsu. Classes explore core positions, techniques, and concepts in greater detail, with more emphasis on decision-making, connection, and applying what you know against resistance. Live training becomes a bigger part of the process, helping students improve their timing, problem solving, and ability to make jiu-jitsu work in real time.
ISOLATION TRAINING IS KEY
Isolation Training is used to help students develop skill in specific positions under real resistance. Rather than always starting from neutral and hoping a certain situation appears, we intentionally place students in the positions they need to understand and give them repeated opportunities to solve the problem. This allows students to fine-tune details, improve timing and decision-making, and develop confidence in positions they may not yet be able to consistently reach against more experienced training partners.
CHALLENGE YOURSELF WITH COMPETITION TRAINING
Competition Training is designed for students who want to test and sharpen their jiu-jitsu in a competitive setting. The program focuses on strategy, pacing, positional awareness, match preparation, and developing the ability to perform under pressure. Gentle Human athletes have won and placed at both local and major tournaments, but the goal goes beyond medals. Competition is used as a tool to expose weaknesses, build resilience, and help students understand jiu-jitsu at a deeper level.
