Kids Program

Helping children develop physical literacy in fun and exciting ways

Are you looking for an extra-curricular activity for your child that teaches them the value of setting goals, maintaining positive habits, and developing a positive athletic attitude? Well, you have found the right place. Gentle Human BJJ (GH) has a dedicated kids program for ages 4 and up. Our Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ) program is a practical self-defense based martial arts that teaches children the invaluable skill of survival. In addition to survival, we focus heavily on bully prevention, leadership training, and competitive jiu-jitsu training to develop the mind.

We believe in Long Term Jiu Jitsu Development (LTJJD) which emphasizes the importance of developing physical skills alongside the mental. Gentle Human BJJ has three distinct programs that scaffold the learning environment for children to ensure they are getting a more personalized experienced when on the mats. Our goal is to give children an elite level training experience.

NEW! Wildlings - Prepare for the Game (ages 4-7): The basis of this 50-minute class is to develop the skills needed to learn jiu-jitsu. While half of these skills are physical, the other half are mental and emotional. In this class we will focus on classroom etiquette, attention drills, animal movements, obstacle courses, and basic jiu-jitsu skills and games. We want this class to be as fun and engaging as possible.

Hunters - Master the Art (ages 8-12): In this class students are challenged to focus on the technical aspect of jiu-jitsu. Students will continue to explore basic BJJ theory through class lessons, isolated sparring, and games that highlight important jiu-jitsu principles. This class is a perfect mix of fun and discipline.

Warriors/Advanced Youth - Compete! (6-13): Students are invited to this class once they have a solid understanding of basic BJJ fundamentals, body awareness, and leadership skills. Situational attacks, transitions, escapes and strategies are explored, in addition to a strong emphasis on instinctual application through live sparring. 15 out of 24 spots available
